The Garware Institute of Career Education and Development (GICED), a part of University of Mumbai’s Kalina campus, was founded in 1984. Distinct from the traditional academic courses, GICED’s educational programs seek to meet the following needs:
- To diversify education with a view to providing not only knowledge but also skills.
- To give orientation to education for appropriate employment.
- To bring about the greater linkage between general education and work-oriented education, and to enable students to apply their knowledge of theory, techniques and practice for their personal and organizational goals.
- To impart intensive training and promote skills to increase prospects of employment to those who have passed the higher secondary or graduate examination, and even for open eligibility.
